FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OLD TIMEY, ORIGINAL RADIO THEATRE PRODUCTION COMES TO TORONTO
Toronto, October 4, 2016: VRMP Radio is an original radio play put together by a dynamic trio of women with an eclectic background in the fields of audio and theatre. Stephanie Cooke, Emily Milling, and Lily Mills have co-created, directed, produced and written an original radio play in six parts.
Each month, one episode of the radio play titled: The 5 People You Meet in Hell, is performed in front of a live audience at The Social Capital Theatre on the Danforth. Theatre and podcast lovers can come out to watch the studio magic happen live and be treated to a variety of up and coming talent as opening acts.
“It’s a project that we are all incredibly passionate about,” says VRMP co-founder Stephanie Cooke. “We love radio, theatre and podcasts so for us, this combined all of those things and allowed us to put together a show that was unique and fun for everyone involved, including the audience.”
The 5 People You Meet in Hell follows the story of Dave; a man who has died and been damned to hell for all of eternity. Dave is convinced that it’s all a big mistake and that he’s actually a really great guy. Dave is enlightened to the error of his ways with the help of his case worker Anya, who takes him down Memory Lane to relive his “Five Greatest Hits,” or, five of the things that directly contributed to his damnation.
Each episode highlights one of Dave’s flashbacks and shows the audience the fallout of what happened to those around him.
The 5 People You Meet in Hell is additionally released as a podcast two weeks after each live performance and can be found on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, and anywhere else podcasts are hosted.
Only two episodes into production, the second episode will be released on October 12, 2016. The next live show is on October 19, 2016 at 8 p.m. at The Social Capital Theatre.
